about proud

Although the people around him adore him just the way he is, David simply isn't ready to own his queerness. He doesn't want to be accepted, he doesn't even want to be celebrated...he just wants to be normal. One fateful night, he discovers Redemption Road's Reality Trek conversion programme online and embarks on what he thinks will be an exciting voyage of discovery; however things don't quite go the way he planned and David is forced to look at himself and the world he wants to live in through very different eyes.

With a brilliant score by composer Lee Freeman and lyricist Mark Anderson, and a book co-written by Anderson and Graham Lappin, this new contemporary musical comedy explores identity, shame and the vital importance of pride in an irreverent and hilarious fashion.
